About the role and to apply for a VRS Fencer, a qualified operative installs safety barriers along roads and motorways to protect drivers and pedestrians. Barriers include steel crash barriers, concrete systems, and parapets to prevent vehicles from leaving the carriageway during accidents.
Key Responsibilities
* Installing permanent, temporary, or parapet vehicle restraint systems to industry standards
* Reading site plans and setting out lines and levels
* Handling and securing fencing materials and components
* Operating hand and power tools safely
* Assisting with groundwork and foundation preparation
* Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations
Requirements
* CSCS card (preferred)
* Reliable and take pride in delivering great service
* Right to work in the UK unsponsored
* Team players with a positive, can-do attitude
* Hold a full UK driving licence (with 6 points or fewer)
* Flexible to work days, nights and weekends when required
* Able to pass a drug & alcohol test and a safety-critical medical (it’s a physical job!)

The general hours of work are 40 hours per week, guaranteed. You must be flexible to work days, nights and weekends as shift patterns can vary week to week.
