Role: Trainee Solicitor - Private Client Team

What Your Traineeship Will Involve
Over the course of your 2-year traineeship, you will:
* Assist with the drafting and preparation of Wills, Powers of Attorney and Trusts
* Support Solicitors in the ongoing administration of estates and trusts
* Liaise directly with clients and their families in sensitive, often life-changing circumstances
* Help manage client affairs during their lifetime and following death
* Conduct legal research, attend training sessions, and prepare legal documentation
* Handle a small caseload under close supervision while gaining exposure to increasingly complex matters
* Be supported by experienced colleagues, including Solicitors, Associates, and supervising Partners, as well as our Legal Support teams
This is a role for a thoughtful, proactive individual who values building strong relationships and providing excellent client service. You’ll need a high level of discretion, empathy, and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
* Communicating with clients and third parties via phone, email, and in person
* Preparing legal documents and supporting the administration of estates and trusts
* Maintaining accurate client records using our online case management system
* Attending internal training and development sessions
* Conducting legal research and contributing to team knowledge
* Supporting solicitors and case handlers in day-to-day matters
What We’re Looking For
* 2:1 or above in Scots Law LLB (or accelerated degree)
* Diploma in Legal Practice
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Confidence dealing with sensitive matters and client contact
* Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office
* Previous experience in a legal, client-facing, or administrative role
* Familiarity with legal case management systems
* Salary in line with Law Society of Scotland recommended rates
