Head of Procurement Our client is a leading electronics distribution organisation with a fantastic workplace environment. Due to significant business growth, they are now looking to recruit an experienced Head of Procurement to work across our client's Bedfordshire and Colchester sites. (£70-£80K basic package) Responsibilities: Lead, develop and mentor a high-performing procurement team across two sites (Bedfordshire / Colchester) and assess the potential of a category management practice Develop and implement the companys procurement strategy aligned with business goals Ensuring robust supplier relationships with manufacturers, OEMs and logistics partners, focus on cost efficiency, stock availability and strategic alignment Establish and expand supplier-led fulfilment models, including drop ship arrangements to support availability, reduce stock-holding costs and increase fulfilment Manage the sourcing of technical products across key categories (components, wholesale) and collaborate with operations/sales to ensure optimal stock levels and availability Enable procurement automation to reduce manual processes Experience Minimum 10 years of procurement experience, ideally across related industries, such as parts/components supply, automotive, retail, manufacturing, electronics, building services, wholesale or HVAC. A proven track record in strategic sourcing, category management, and supplier negotiation. Familiarity with global sourcing from Europe and Asia, import processes, and international supplier engagement. Experience using ERP systems (SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.) and works effectively with sales, operations, finance, and technical teams Experience leading / participating in procurement automation initiatives (removal of manual / paper based processes) Desirable - A degree and professional certifications such as CIPS, ISM, CPSM or equivalent If you have the skills and experience for this highly rewarding position, we would like to hear from you, we are looking to interview immediately.
