We are seeking a talented and flexible Relief Chef to join our culinary team on an as-needed basis. The Relief Chef will step in to cover absences, assist during peak periods, and support special events across various locations.
This role is perfect for a versatile and experienced chef who enjoys a dynamic work environment and has a passion for cooking.
Responsibilities:
* Prepare and cook meals according to menu specifications and dietary requirements
* Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and hygiene
* Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and company policies
* Adapt to different kitchen environments and work collaboratively with diverse teams
* Assist with menu planning and development when needed
* Manage kitchen operations efficiently, including inventory management and stock control
* Provide training and support to kitchen staff as required
* Maintain cleanliness and organisationin the kitchen at all times
Requirements:
* Proven experience as a Chef in various settings (e.g., restaurants, hotels, schools, care homes)
* Culinary qualification or relevant training is preferred
* Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations
* Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to different kitchen environments
* Excellent cooking skills and creativity in menu planning
* Strong teamwork and communication skills
* Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
* An Enhanced DBS will be required to work in schools and care homes
* Availability to travel to different locations as needed
