Due to retirement a fabulous opportunity has opened up to join our Administration Team here at Gullane Medical Practice. We are a small rural practice with a patient list size of just above 6,200. We provide GP consultations along with a range of other services to local residents. The Practice team consists of 3 GP Partners, 3 Salaried GPs, 2 Practice Nurses, 1 Health Care Assistant, 1 Phlebotomist, Business Manager, Office Manager and 11 administrative staff. Our Practice IT systems are Vision and Docman.

We are seeking an Administrator / Medical Receptionist / Clinical Coder who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Your ability to ensure consistent, high-quality administration will directly support our commitment to delivering outstanding patient care.
Administrator / Medical Receptionist Key Responsibilities
1. Undertake a wide range of administrative duties with a view to providing excellent patient care and support to our clinical team
2. Excellent patient facing and telephone manner, good administrative skills and is well organised, calm under pressure, with a sense of humour
3. Flexible approach to work and can work effectively as part of a team
4. Excellent IT skills, and experience using Microsoft office packages is essential
Clinical Coder Responsibilities
5. Coding and Data Management: Accurately summarise and read code patient records, hospital correspondence, and other data sources into our clinical (Vision) and Docman systems, ensuring adherence to protocols.
6. Daily Administration: Triaging clinical letters and managing patient records
Essential Skills and Qualifications
7. NAT 5 (or equivalent) in literacy and numeracy, or relevant work-based experience
8. Strong communication skills and ability to interact with a variety of people
9. Patient-focused, with empathy and compassion when handling queries
Preferred Skills
10. Previous experience in a similar role
11. Experience with clinical systems VISION and Docman
12. Good working knowledge of medical terminology
