Coordinator – Collaborative Community Ownership Support Service (C-COSS)
* Location: Remote, home-based in Wales
* Summary of Role: To provide support and guidance for communities on community asset ownership management and related topics, as part of the C-COSS team.
We are recruiting a Coordinator for our newly funded Collaborative Community Ownership Support Service (C-COSS), a service that will enable communities across Wales to take on, safeguard and manage the assets that matter to them – both buildings and land.
The post holder will be responsible for the coordination and delivery of C-COSS over two years, including delivering packages of support for 75 third sector organisations on the operational, technical and legal requirements of owning and managing assets, the production of materials to sit within an online resource library, and training on core topics relating to community asset ownership and management.
The successful candidate will form a central role in C-COSS, which is led by DTA Wales but will be delivered in partnership with Coalfields Regeneration Trust (CRT), Institute of Welsh Affairs (IWA) and Building Communities Trust (BCT).
We’re looking for someone with experience working amongst Welsh communities, alongside other authorities and agencies and with hands‑on experience of the asset transfer process. Specialist knowledge can be an advantage but is not essential; the successful candidate will understand the practicalities and challenges of owning and managing land and/or buildings, and will have a talent for working with people and enabling skills and knowledge to be shared. We need someone who is organised, meticulous, and a great communicator, and who has experience of running and/or supporting community groups and enterprises in Wales.
