We are looking for an experienced Team Leader, preferably from automotive sector, to join a well-known and successful manufacturer based in Telford.
As aTeam Leader you would be responsible for guiding and managing a group of associates to achieve specific goals, ensuring effective communication, and providing support to team members.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
- Responsible for supervising, training, and supporting associates within their section,
- Leadership style stemming from a lead-by example' approach,
- Assist associates to achieve their cycle time in relation to production targets,
- Support new associates and ensure adequate on the job training is provided,
- To understand and communicate the Quality First' philosophy,
- Effectively carrying out operational requests and tasks relating to business areas goals,
- Maintaining and enforcing operational standards within their section to ensure the daily operation runs smoothly and efficiently,
- Responsible for the ordering of parts to achieve daily build plan and ensuring that minimum and maximum stock levels are maintained.
- Ensure your team understand production schedule expectations. Effectively deploy the team to achieve schedule and production targets on a daily basis.
- Ensure production monitoring boards,
- Ensure an effective end of shift handover, covering issues, actions and resolutions, and that the area(s) are left in a production ready condition for the next shift.
- Ensure that 5s is championed, maintained and audited.
Essential requirements to be considered for the role:
• Experience of manufacturing and responsiveness to customer needs.
• Basic understanding of relevant company policies and procedures.
• An accredited Level 3 qualification in Leadership and Management.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Good level of numerical and analytical ability.
• Computer literate.
• Experience of Lean Management Techniques/Kaizen.
• Motivate, involve and engage Associates to deliver departmental objectives.
• Encourages team working and leads by example.
• Understanding of business KPI's, finance and budgetary control.
Desirable skills, experience or qualifications:
• Have completed IOSH Managing Safely qualification
• Previous experience within an automotive environment
• Experience of trouble shooting and problem solving.
• An understanding of Japanese manufacturing process and thinking way.
Training on specific manufacturing processes will be provided.
