Salary: £24,000 to £30,000 Depending on Experience

We are currently seeking a highly motivated Accounts Assistant to join our dynamic Accounts Hub. If you have excellent communication skills, a strong team mentality, and a keen eye for detail, we want to hear from you. Previous motor trade experience is advantageous but not essential.
What you’ll do
You will report to the Regional Accountant and your responsibilities will include:
1. Checking and Loading Payments:
o Review payment requests for accuracy and completeness.
o Communicate with various locations to resolve queries.
o Load payments onto the online banking system for approval.
o Process payments in the in-house DMS system, ensuring correct allocations.
2. Monitoring Bank Receipts:
o Verify cleared funds using online banking and communicate confirmations to relevant sites.
3. Other Duties:
o Manage petty cash, credit control, reconcile PDQ transactions, process bank payments and receipts, reconcile supplier statements, process purchase ledger invoices, and allocate credit card transactions.
o Collaborate with finance and operational teams to maintain a robust control environment in line with policies.
o Perform ad hoc tasks as required.
4. Assist with:
o General administration tasks.
o Supporting ledger teams and assisting the Accountant and Assistant Accountant with various tasks.
Who you are
You are highly organized with excellent attention to detail, an analytical thinker, comfortable with numbers and problem-solving. You possess good interpersonal skills, can develop effective relationships at all levels, are energetic, self-motivated, and proactive.
Your experience
To succeed, you should have:
* Experience in the automotive industry is preferable.
* Previous experience as an Accounts Assistant or in Purchase Ledger roles.
* Knowledge of Kerridge is advantageous.
* An accounting qualification or a desire to pursue one.
* Excellent communication skills and a keen eye for detail.
