The role
We are seeking an experienced Loader/Shunter to join our fast-paced Logistics team. You will support the safe and efficient movement of materials and vehicles within our facility, ensuring smooth operations and timely processes.
This role requires a keen eye for safety and attention to detail.
Your responsibilities include moving trailers and materials on-site, coordinating with warehouse and production teams, and supporting operational flow with minimal disruption.
What you'll do
* Obtain and maintain all necessary VEKA and regulatory vehicle licenses.
* Operate HGV vehicles safely, perform daily safety checks, and report defects.
* Load and unload vehicles efficiently and safely, liaising with supervisors and transport colleagues.
* Keep the loading bay clear and ensure prompt, accurate customer deliveries.
* Assist with stock movement and maintain transport utilization records.
* Accurately scan delivery notes into the system and communicate effectively across all levels.
* Follow all company policies, health and safety standards, and VEKA values.
* Handle merchandise carefully to maintain excellent customer relations.
* Provide flexible cover during busy periods, including night shifts.
* Use initiative and good judgment to benefit the company and customers.
What you'll need
* A valid FLT license.
* An HGV shunting certificate or willingness to undertake company training.
* Flexibility and reliability for shift work (14:00–22:00, Monday to Friday).
* Understanding of vehicle safety, handling procedures, and compliance.
* Excellent communication skills and teamwork ability.
