Job Description
We are partnered with an immuno-oncology focused biotech in Oxford seeking to hire a Senior Scientist with expertise in Cancer Immunology. This role requires a PhD in a relevant field. Prior industry experience is highly desirable and familiarity with bioinformatics is a plus.
Responsibilities:
* Contribute to a collaborative, high-standard research environment with strong focus on reproducibility, data integrity, and regulatory compliance
* Support translational research strategy and help shape scientific direction within a small, multidisciplinary discovery team
* Design and optimise experimental models, including 2D and organoid systems
* Develop and refine macrophage culture, maturation, and functional activation assays
* Establish co-culture systems and cell-based assays to assess immune cell activity and cytokine responses
* Troubleshoot experimental challenges and ensure robust, high-quality data generation for drug discovery programmes
* Analyse, interpret, and communicate experimental findings to guide project progression
Requirements:
* Extensive experience handling and isolating human immune cells from primary samples
* Strong experience in immune cell culture, expansion, and functional immunology assays
* Expertise in macrophage biology, including differentiation and maturation studies
* Hands-on experience with flow cytometry, immune phenotyping, and cytotoxicity assays
* Ability to design and execute robust cellular immunology assays
