We are currently looking for a Payroll Administrator to join the team on a full-time, permanent basis. As part of our continuous development and growth strategy, we are seeking a payroll professional for our HR Operations department on a hybrid working contract, with some on-site time in our Ashford office each week.
Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you will process payroll operations while ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance. You will research, develop, and administer efficient payroll policies and operating procedures, and provide excellent colleague‑service support.
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities
* Process monthly payroll accurately and on time in accordance with UK legislation and SAP system deadlines.
* Administer payroll details on HR/Payroll systems, including joiners, leavers, changes, benefit enrollments, absences, BACS & CHAPS payments, third‑party payments, payslips, HMRC tax codes, and year‑end processing.
* Perform reconciliations and audit tasks for monthly payrolls.
* Transmit banking payments accurately and reconcile bank accounts.
* Provide high‑level customer service via colleague self‑service systems, email, in‑person, and online channels for a range of queries.
* Continuously improve day‑to‑day payroll operations through process enhancements.
* Advise on compensation, legislation, benefits, and tax‑related issues.
* Collaborate with Finance, Treasury, HR, and Regional Teams on project initiatives and system enhancements & testing.

The ideal candidate will have previous in‑house UK payroll experience and current, up‑to‑date knowledge of UK payroll legislation, including PAYE, National Insurance, SMP, SSP, NIC, and RTI. You should be able to perform manual salary and tax calculations accurately, have working knowledge of the SAP Payroll/HR system, and possess strong Excel and MS365 skills. Attention to detail, problem‑solving ability, and the capacity to work under pressure with tight deadlines are essential. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a collaborative, proactive attitude are required.
