A leading utilities provider is seeking a Senior Buyer to join their procurement team, based in Peterborough. This role will take ownership of key procurement activities across a diverse portfolio of projects, ensuring best value, compliance, and long-term supply chain resilience.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage end-to-end procurement processes for goods, services, and works within the utilities sector.
* Develop and maintain supplier relationships to secure cost-effective and sustainable outcomes.
* Lead contract negotiations, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and company standards.
* Provide commercial input into project planning and delivery.
* Drive continuous improvement in procurement strategies and supply chain performance.
Requirements
* Proven experience as a Buyer or Senior Buyer within utilities, infrastructure or construction sector experience
* Strong knowledge of contract management and procurement processes.
* Ability to negotiate effectively and influence stakeholders at all levels.
* Commercially astute with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
* CIPS qualification or working towards it preferred.

* Starting salary of £45,000 to £58,000
