Cleveland Police are seeking an experienced and professional individual to fulfil the role of Data Protection Officer. This is a key role which leads and manages the Force’s Information Management functions including Data Protection and Information Rights.
Candidate Requirements
1. Demonstrable track record in data privacy with strong knowledge of GDPR and the Law Enforcement Directive.
2. Experience in interpreting legislation and leading incident management responses related to data protection.
Key Responsibilities
1. Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, including the Data Protection Act 2018.
2. Oversee Force compliance on Management of Police Information (MOPI) and College of Policing Authorised Professional Practice (APP) for Information Management, including MOPI, information sharing, FOI, Data Protection, and Information Assurance.
3. Provide professional and technical advice as a Force expert, acting independently and being directly accountable to the Chief Constable as Data Controller.

* Ability to implement strategies related to Data Protection effectively.
