Who we are: Cambian Northampton School is a small independent specialist provision with 30 students on roll that provides quality and personalised education for young people ranging from ages 11 to 16 with on-going social, emotional and mental health difficulties (SEMH). The school offers a nurturing and caring environment which allows all our young people to thrive and achieve their full potential. Purpose of the role: The role will include management of the school on a day-to-day basis and a teaching duty. A full understanding of the school behaviour policy is required, along with the ability to implement and model high standards of behaviour management. In addition to this, contribution to the self-evaluation process and strategic development of the school will be an integral part of the role ensuring professional standards are maintained at all times. A successful candidate should have: Suitable education qualifications such as QTS, a teaching degree or degree and PGCE. A strong track record of outstanding teaching and leadership. An excellent, efficient and emotionally intelligent communicator. The ability/willing to teach a subject specialism to GCSE level. A strong desire to work inclusively within an emotionally literate environment, supporting children who have experienced adverse childhood experiences. Experience of crisis-management/managing challenging behaviours and working with children with SEMH difficulties. Proven experience of implementing a creative and academically engaging curriculum which meets the needs of individual pupils, whilst maintaining high standards of education.
