Theatre School Assistant Teacher
Location: Breaston, Derbyshire
Hours: Mondays (4:00pm – 6:45pm, term time) + additional dates as required
Contract: Self-employed (sub-contracted basis)
We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic Theatre School Teacher to join our ever-growing team
You will be required to assist our class lead in teaching performing arts to ages 5-16 years as we create our end of year showcase Proving a safe, fun and friendly environment. There may be the odd occasion where you'll be required to lead the class, but if this is the case you'll be informed in advance and a full lesson plan will be provided. This obviously wouldn't happen until you feel completely comfortable and are fully trained.
This exciting role offers the opportunity to:
* Teach performing arts (singing, dancing and acting) to children aged 5–16
* Assist in directing and producing our end-of-year showcases
* Play a key role in inspiring the next generation of performers
Key Duties & Responsibilities
* Deliver engaging, fun and structured performing arts classes
* Supervise and safeguard students at all times (ages 5–16)
* Assist with directing and producing annual showcases and performances
* Ensure safe practice in line with safeguarding and child protection guidelines
* Maintain a clean, tidy and safe venue (light cleaning responsibilities included)
* Support with administration and general running of the school as required
Requirements
* Must be 18+
* Performing Arts experience is essential
* Enthusiastic, fun and passionate about the arts
* Right to work in the UK
* Experience working with children is desired but not essential
* Willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check
* Up-to-date First Aid and Safeguarding training (or willingness to obtain)
