The Role
As a QA Technician at Holland & Barrett's Burton Manufacturing site, you'll ensure every product meets our high standards for safety, quality, and compliance. You'll perform audits, inspections, and investigations—identifying non-conformances, managing testing schedules, and driving continuous improvement. Working closely with the QA Team Leader, you'll protect product integrity and support a leading health and wellness brand committed to innovation, sustainability, and employee growth. This full-time, permanent, shift-based role offers hands-on experience with food safety protocols and the chance to make a real impact on customer trust.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct foreign body audits and report findings to operations and engineering teams
* Lead complaint investigations using live factory traceability to identify root causes
* Calibrate and verify equipment (scales, probes, metal weights) for accurate measurements
* Perform product quality checks, including weight verification and label/version control
* Oversee positive release of raw materials and finished goods
* Conduct GMP and hygiene audits (environmental swabbing, allergen/speciation testing)
* Manage supplier non-conformance reports (NCRs) and track corrective actions
* Audit production records and hygiene documentation for completeness and compliance
Location: This role is based onsite Monday-Friday at our Burton Distribution Centre - This position typically follows a morning shift of 6:00am–2:00pm. Some flexibility around start times may be required to support operational needs
The Person
* Experience in QA within food manufacturing or a regulated environment, with knowledge of BRC, HACCP Level 2+, and auditing
* Proficiency in calibration, equipment verification, and lab testing schedules using a QMS
* Proven ability to investigate complaints, perform traceability checks, and manage NCRs
* Excellent attention to detail and structured approach to documentation and reporting
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to drive corrective actions
* Effective communicator who collaborates across departments and with suppliers
* Self-motivated and adaptable to shift-based schedules
* HACCP Level 2 or higher and Food Safety Level 3 (or willingness to obtain)
