Let’s take it on. Next Distribution fuels our expansive network of over 500 retail locations, our global online presence, and partnerships with more than 700 brands through Next’s Total Platform. The cornerstone of our enduring growth and achievements lies in the expertise, dedication, and versatility of our teams. As we continue to grow, we are actively seeking driven, innovative, and imaginative individuals to become part of our dynamic evolution.
Our International Logistics team are key in the global supply chain and at the forefront of innovative solutions to ensure our global customers receive the service they expect of the Next brand. Due to significant growth, we are expanding our International team.

As International Parcels Controller, you will be working with Next’s key carriers around the world and it’s vital that you are able to understand the customer journey in each country, by being fully connected to the customer order from start to finish. Working closely with the account management teams of your carriers and with the team of International Coordinators, you will constantly look for improvements to Next’s delivery efficiencies and customer experience while considering the impact of these on the cost base. By analysing information and engaging with stakeholders, you will be confident in providing detailed insight to senior managers and Directors on the commercial impact and customer benefits of any changes to process.

By building effective working relationships with your 3rd party carriers and with the Warehouse operations teams, you will ensure that the correct volumes are picked, packed, shipped and delivered. You will be responsible for conducting regular planning meetings with the warehouse Operations teams and your key accounts on expected volumes (including sale), volume variances and any process or systems changes. Using your knowledge and expertise, you will anticipate any potential problems that could impact Next’s delivery promises to our customers and recommend appropriate solutions.

Reporting into the International Logistics Manager and working closely with the Distribution team, senior managers, 3rd party carriers, Systems and other support departments, you will be instrumental in ensuring that our global customers receive their parcels on time and that we stay ahead of the delivery offers and performance of our competitors. You will be responsible for the day to day management of a Logistics Coordinator who will provide support to your role.

About you:

Our International business is one of the fastest growing areas of Next and we need a candidate with energy, drive and passion to make a difference. Leading by example, you will be a self-starter who consistently demonstrates the Next values and ethos, able to build strong working relationships and work cross-functionally. Experience of people management is required and you will demonstrate the ability to coach and develop people to achieve team goals.

A strong and confident communicator and influencer, you will be able to present complex information in a variety of ways relevant to a wide audience, offering intuitive solutions in order to ensure project delivery.

Experience in a similar role in account or client management, ideally within supply chain or logistics is essential along with a sound understanding of Microsoft Office (notably Excel) and Google Suite. Project Management skills are key and you will be a highly organised candidate, able to deal with rapidly changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

You will demonstrate a flexible approach; travel between the Warehouses in South Elmsall and Head Office will be required, along with some International travel to meet with our key carriers.
