Overview

Working within the merchandising team under supervision of the senior merchandiser/ account manager performing to job spec. Following team’s goals in line with company’s requirements.


Responsibilities

* Identifying customer’s requirements for upcoming season, researching competition product and current product for other customers, and liaising with design for input on future trends.
* Communicating with buying team and understanding key sample deadlines and selection/ sign off dates.
* Working with buyers to receive design packs in time to meet critical deadline dates.
* Collaborating with in-house design team and buyers to ensure feedback on CADs is provided in time for actioning to meet deadlines.
* Monitoring progress of samples with the counterpart PAK development team to ensure arrival on time and adherence to design pack requirements with correct quality.
* Ensuring availability of all required samples for buyer’s selection meetings on time.
* Requesting buyers feedback on samples and acting on revised samples or arranging price indications as needed.
* Finalising potential orders for selection, checking delivery dates with the PAK production team based on potential quantity, and confirming lead times with the buyer.
* Chasing the admin team for bookings/contracts once buyers have finalised selections with price agreements.
* Sending bookings to the clothing ERP team in PAK to generate a PAK PO to add into the ERP, and ensuring internal PO is correctly issued with focus on fabric quality/wash, garment components and delivery dates.
* Requesting buyers styling confirmation and ensuring the technologist team requests fit comments to hand over the style to garment tech.
* Coordinating with the PAK production team to take booked garments from development and sending a styling confirmation sheet with all components, ensuring buyers’ styling comments are understood and conveyed to PAK production.
* Handover style to UK technologist to confirm base and spec block to the factory, including styling confirmation.
* Planning to go online 7 days from PAK PO generation (booking receipt date); if not possible, reporting to management.
* Within 1 week of plan online, requesting TNA for yarn, fabric and production from the PAK merchandiser, and ensuring these dates are updated in ERP.
* Ensuring ERP critical path is updated with garment pics, qty, fabric, agreed prices, garment components and delivery date splits.
* Within 1 week of plan online, clarifying packaging, swing tickets and any additional packaging requirements.
* Within 2 weeks of plan online, confirming when all garment components/samples will arrive for customer approval.
* Within 4 weeks of plan online, confirming packaging and wash care labels and ordering; reporting any obstacles to senior merchandiser/ account manager if needed.
* Upon receipt of submissions, checking thoroughly against previous comments and samples for colour and quality before sending to the customer; discuss fabric concerns with the UK tech and rejections with the senior merchandiser/ account manager.
* Communicating with the customer on any rejections that could impact delivery date and, if extensions are required, informing the customer promptly after consulting with the merchandising team.
* For landed accounts, ensuring all correct documentation is handed over to logistics and accounts within the set timeline and flagging quantities to avoid dead stock issues.
* Assessing business performance and profits/losses and identifying ways to improve profitability.
* Ensuring customer satisfaction and resolving issues highlighted by customer’s buying/merchandising teams.
* Monitoring delivery/lead time performance of the account in line with customer delivery dates.
* Implementing best practices and continuous improvements to meet and maximise customer satisfaction while adhering to procedures and processes.
* Providing leadership, maintaining, developing and training the assistant merchandiser to secure and develop core competencies for current and future challenges.
* Conducting timely reviews of account performance with the account manager evaluating attitude, performance and business projections.
* Providing regular injection of innovation to the fabric innovation project and ensuring the merchandising team carries out tasks relevant to the project.
