Job Description:
Seeking Family Medicine Nurse Practitioner to join Worcester, MA practice as a primary care provider and APP Trainer. The APP Trainer will work in a hybrid role that includes training newly hired Advanced Practice Providers while also providing medical services for patients. The APP Trainer is a member of the clinical practice team and collaborates with other team members in patient care. This is a full-time role with 20 hours of direct patient care and 20 hours of APP support, training, education, and professional development.
Training Responsibilities:
* Train one to two new Advanced Practice Providers (APP), such as nurse practitioners or physician assistants hired in the last two years.
* Review all new-hire APP charts during their first month, then review approximately ten APP charts monthly.
* APPs will list the APP Trainer physician within their MSCR.
* Coordinate with MAVEN services.
* Precepting: observe and shadow APPs, evaluate based on competencies including history taking, physical exam skills, data analysis, management/plan formation, procedures, problem solving, hazards, biases, and medical principles.
Primary Care Responsibilities:
* Provide medical care for acute, chronic, or preventive health issues.
* Examine patients, develop diagnostic plans, order tests, interpret findings, and implement treatment plans.
* Perform reproductive/pregnancy health procedures, including IUD and Nexplanon insertions/removals, cervical exams, and prenatal care as appropriate.
* Consult with specialists and participate in other care procedures as trained.
* Maintain and update Electronic Health Records (EHR) within 48 hours.
* Participate in rotating after-hours and weekend call schedules.
