Overview
The post holder will work as part of a dynamic IT Operations Team, focusing on the technical support frontline within the End User Computing environment. The role is at the forefront of delivering first line activities, providing resolution of all related tickets and service requests in an efficient and effective manner. You will also be part of the wider Digital Service team, working with other departments on tickets and service requests to maintain high-quality customer service for internal and external stakeholders.
To support the provision of first line technical support and guide on hardware and software used across the Trust, including PC and peripheral hardware, software configuration, networking, or application specific areas. If service requests cannot be resolved within the first line service, escalate them to the appropriate sections of Digital Services. You will participate in responses related to troubleshooting all tickets reported to the first line team, following priorities, and raising concerns that require priority assessment to ensure timely resolution. Identify any service issues (e.g., security, resilience or performance) and resolve if possible, or report to management to ensure systems are monitored and actions are taken to maintain and optimise them.
The role includes setup, configuration and installation of equipment and software to support projects and initiatives within the Trust. Assist with planning software/hardware rollouts as required, with agreement of specific project teams. Work with other team members to enable delivery of new systems and software during live operation. You will be responsible for assisting with the creation and appropriate reviewing of standard operational procedures for the section, flagging to a senior member if procedures require updating as they become out of date or incorrect.
