Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Assistant to join our team in Kent. This role is vital in ensuring that our facilities are safe and well-maintained, directly contributing to the supportive environment we provide for vulnerable children and young adults. Your expertise will help us maintain a nurturing space where growth and resilience can flourish.
Responsibilities
In the absence of the Maintenance & Administration Manager, you'll step up to coordinate works, manage property handovers, liaise with contractors, and ensure compliance. This role offers excellent development opportunities for someone looking to gain leadership experience.
Key Responsibilities
* Complete weekly health & safety checks on properties
* Troubleshoot and carry out minor repairs; arrange contractors as needed
* Keep accurate records (maintenance works, keys, inventories, compliance checks)
* Ensure empty rooms/properties are prepared for new occupancy
* Safeguard tools and follow COSHH regulations
* Support administration tasks such as scheduling and ordering materials
When covering for the Manager, you will:
* Coordinate and delegate maintenance works
* Manage property handovers, void rooms, and tenancy-related matters
* Liaise with landlords, utilities, and council tax services
* Oversee risk assessments and compliance paperwork
* Represent the maintenance team in management meetings
