Job Description:
This role involves working across various locations throughout NHSGGC, NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, one of the UK's largest healthcare systems employing around 40,000 staff. The position offers an exciting opportunity for a pharmacy technician to lead on the delivery and development of pharmacotherapy, medicines compliance, and care home services. Responsibilities include service development, operational and workforce planning, and budget management, with a focus on advancing pharmacy technician and prescribing support worker education in primary care.
The senior prescriber will promote cost-effective, evidence-based prescribing within GP practices and care homes, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to improve medicines management and patient care. The role requires strong leadership, communication, negotiation, organizational, and IT skills, with the ability to influence change.
