Teacher – Secondary Alternative Provision (PRU) Location: Thrapston and/or Northampton Contract: Full-time/ part-time Salary: MPS/UPS (dependent on experience) We are seeking a committed, resilient and compassionate teacher to join our Secondary Alternative Provision supporting young people who require a personalised and therapeutic approach to education. This role is ideal for a teacher who is passionate about re-engaging learners, building strong relationships, and making a genuine difference to pupils’ lives. The Role You will: Teach and support secondary-aged pupils with a range of social, emotional and behavioural needs Deliver engaging, adapted lessons that meet individual learning needs Create a safe, structured and supportive learning environment Work closely with a multidisciplinary team, families and external agencies Support pupils’ academic progress, emotional regulation and reintegration pathways We Are Looking For Someone Who: Is a qualified teacher (QTS/QTLS) or has relevant teaching experience Has experience in PRU, AP, SEN or pastoral settings (desirable, not essential) Demonstrates strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills Is patient, reflective and emotionally intelligent Believes in restorative, trauma-informed approaches to behaviour and learning We Offer: Small class sizes and high staff-to-pupil ratios A supportive, experienced team and strong leadership Ongoing CPD focused on SEMH and alternative provision The opportunity to make a real and lasting impact on young people’s lives Flexibility across Thrapston and/or Northampton sites Early applications are encouraged as interviews may be held on a rolling basis.
