Job Description:
As a Structural Welder, you will be an integral part of our Operations Team. Your primary focus will be on Flux Core welding, with potential involvement in mechanized welding. You’ll work in confined spaces and at heights across the Astute and Dreadnought boat programs. Safety, quality standards, and product knowledge are essential for success in this role.
Core Duties:
* Adhere to SHE regulations and operate only the equipment you are trained and competent to use.
* Meet targets safely and with a focus on quality.
* Foster positive working relationships with your team and stakeholders.
* Take responsibility for your work, ensuring it meets safety and quality requirements.
* Be accountable for your safety and that of others, engaging with management on any safety concerns.
Essential Skills:
* Completion of a full Modern Apprenticeship.
* Safety certifications (e.g., SHE induction, COSHH awareness, working at height) are desirable.
* Experience in Flux Cored welding.
* Varied experience across different welding processes and assemblies, including alignment and forming materials.
The Operations Team:
As a Structural Welder, you will engage in diverse steelwork welding tasks across various products and materials, covering the full lifecycle of build programs on the Astute and Dreadnought boat programs. All team members conduct operational activities in line with defined procedures and standards, ensuring a safe and structured work environment.
We also offer relocation support packages for submarine roles, subject to eligibility criteria.
