Job Title: Business Intelligence Officer
Reports to: Head of ICT
Salary: Scale SO1, Points 29-31, £29090 - £31,014 Per annum, Pro rata
Hours of work: 22.5 hours Per Week (One day must be Friday)
Key Responsibilities:
* General data analysis and presentation
o To ‘clean up’ a variety of sets of data (sometimes standard, sometimes ad hoc) so they can be analysed effectively.
o To analyse data using appropriate software such as Microsoft Excel and Power BI.
o To create appropriate charts that provide the insight required from the data.
KPI development and delivery
o To identify appropriate KPIs with St Basils departments
o To set up Power BI reports based on these KPIs so that they can be accessed by the key department personnel and have automated source data where possible.
Designing business processes and systems
o To deploy knowledge of IT applications in designing efficient processes and systems for business areas across St Basils.
o To apply Lean principles in the above.
o To evaluate the needs of ‘host’ teams and involve them in the design of processes and systems to ensure buy-in.
o Where appropriate, to design and deliver training to support the roll out new processes and systems.
Determining improvement opportunities
o To identify the improvement opportunities for teams across St Basils based on an operating model approach covering customers’ needs, processes, management and culture.
Interaction with the wider St Basils organisation
o To build and maintain effective relationships with all parts of the organisation to facilitate the above work. Key relationships are with:
+ Operations – for aligning on key changes in projects
+ ICT – for system change and creation of automated reports
+ HR – for alignments on training plus any proposed HR changes
o To write effective reports, presentations, articles and Intranet / social media posts for communicating key messages.
o To facilitate problem solving and design workshops.
o To design and deliver training linked to Business Intelligence Team work where appropriate.
o To support parts of the organisation who are leading improvement work in their area
Qualification
* Essential - Maths and English GCSE (Grade C or above)
* Desirable - Lean accreditation and/ or Six Sigma accreditation
