Overview
We’re looking for a dedicated Grounds Maintenance Operative to join our team at Electricity North West (ENW). In this hands-on role, you’ll help maintain the safety, cleanliness, and operational readiness of our substations, depots, and welfare facilities. You’ll be part of a team that plays a vital role in keeping our infrastructure safe and efficient for both our engineers and the communities we serve.
Responsibilities
* Deliver high-quality grounds maintenance across ENW assets.
* Complete weed & cleans, depot and welfare maintenance, and pest control.
* Ensure all work is completed within SLA (7 days for customer complaints, 14 days for engineer requests).
* Conduct on-site risk assessments (POWRA) and report near misses.
* Attend monthly team and safety briefings.
* Support additional workstreams such as Pest Control, TOS, and Minor Civils.
* Promote accurate and timely reporting to support continuous improvement.

* H100 Authorisation – Essential – Training will be provided
* Emergency First Aid at Work – Essential
* All Substation Groundworker basic competencies – Essential
* Strimmer Course (NPTC or Lantra)
* Mower Course (NPTC or Lantra)
* Hedgecutter Course (NPTC or Lantra)
* PA1 & PA6 (NPTC)
