We’re seeking a commercially-minded senior finance professional with exceptional business partnering skills to work closely with senior leadership in our Operational teams.
This is a highly visible finance role and you'll need exceptional commercial and communication skills to become a trusted partner to this critical area of the business.
It's essential you have the following:
3. Experience of being a lead Finance Business Partner working within an Operations business unit
4. Experience of leading and supporting the delivery of cost reduction and transformation projects
5. Experience of high growth, fast paced and large consumer based businesses
Here's some of the additional key skills and experience we're looking for you to bring:
6. Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with a minimum of +5 years PQE
7. Solid track record of business partnering with Senior Leadership Teams within large organisations
8. Proven financial modelling, analytical and presentations skills are essential
9. Hands-on approach to modelling and reporting
10. The drive to deliver continuous improvements - solutions orientated
11. A pragmatic approach and the ability to see commercial, customer centric solutions
12. Highly effective communication skills and the ability to explain complex ideas to a wide audience in a simple, understandable way

The Finance team is a central function bringing balance to UW. They make sure our ambitious goals are underpinned by a solid financial strategy so that we can keep on innovating and growing in a way that’s sustainable.
You'll work as the senior finance business partner to our Chief Operating Officer and his leadership team. This team supports the growth and development of all our key Operational (Customer Services, Property, Debt, Procurement, Ops Transformation) areas.
You'll manage a team of 2 Finance Business Analysts who will assist with all aspects of the core financial processes for the Operations business.

We are at a critical stage in our organisational development as we look to continue our high growth but ensure the organisation is optimising for scale. Supporting our operational teams with financial rigour, planning and analysis is a key to unlocking this. This involves leading and supporting all the dynamic changes in this business area over the next few years. Your responsibilities will include:
14. Help to drive, support and challenge operational strategy for Operations by forming relationships at senior levels within the business.
15. You'll be a key member of the Operational leadership team, ensuring decision making for spend and financial processes are made collaboratively, adding value through insight, constructive challenge and storytelling
16. Develop a deep understanding of business unit performance, the business model and key priorities
17. Proactively drive the delivery of business and finance objectives across all areas of Operational Excellence
18. Lead, drive and develop insightful, accurate and timely Management Reporting and Cost Analysis
19. Proactively seek data insight through deep dives and independent analysis
20. Support and provide relevant challenge to the Central Finance Planning team regarding forecasts/budgets
21. Proactively identifying and managing risk and opportunities; challenging operational teams to ensure we maximise cost savings for the business through various projects
22. Manage, coach and develop a small team of Finance Analysts
23. Core Operational Excellence finance tasks including:Communication of monthly group reporting, with analysis - providing detailed commentary for Operational Excellence SLTCommunication of group annual budget, with analysis - providing detailed commentary for Operational Excellence SLTProactively driving efficiency/cost savings initiatives across all areas of Operational Excellence and challenging the status quoEnsure continuous improvements so latest business metrics are fed into monthly reporting and budget assumptionsAd hoc reporting requests for the Exec member and SLT
24. Provide the commercial finance support into our Energy transformation programme. Work closely with Head of Energy Transformation and the wider operational team to build accurate modelling of business cases and scenarios.
25. Support the Head of Property & Procurement with the development of the new Procurement team including:Supporting the review and sign process for all contractsSupporting the modelling of commercial opportunities for new contracts
