About the Opportunity
An established commercial vehicle dealership and service centre in Swindon is expanding its workshop team and is seeking a skilled HGV / LCV Vehicle Technician.
This role focuses on the inspection, servicing, diagnostics, and repair of commercial vehicles, ensuring fleets remain safe, compliant, and operational on the road. Technicians work with modern workshop equipment, advanced vehicle diagnostic software, and manufacturer repair procedures.

Key Responsibilities
* Carry out routine servicing, mechanical repairs, and preventative maintenance on commercial vehicles
* Perform major and minor mechanical repairs on trucks and light commercial vehicles
* Conduct vehicle inspections and safety checks in line with DVSA standards
* Utilise advanced diagnostic equipment to identify mechanical and electrical faults
* Replace worn or damaged vehicle components and ensure vehicles meet compliance standards
* Perform wheel alignment, tyre replacement, and general workshop repairs
* Maintain accurate digital job records, workshop documentation, and service reports
* Work collaboratively with workshop teams to diagnose and resolve complex faults
* Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to professional workshop standards
Candidate Profile
* NVQ Level 2 / City & Guilds / IMI qualification in HGV, LCV, or Commercial Vehicle Maintenance
* Proven experience working as a Commercial Vehicle Technician, HGV Mechanic, or LCV Technician
* Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
* Good understanding of DVSA compliance standards and vehicle safety regulations
* Ability to work efficiently in a busy commercial workshop environment
* Strong attention to detail and time management skills
* Full UK driving licence
