Maths Teacher - Specialist Secondary School

🕒 Full-Time | Long-Term | Temp to Perm Available
We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Maths Teacher to join one of our specialist secondary schools in Stoke-on-Trent, supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), trauma-related needs, anxiety, and behavioural challenges.
This is a full-time, long-term position, with the opportunity for a temporary-to-permanent contract for the right candidate.
About the Role:
- Deliver engaging and differentiated Maths lessons to secondary-aged pupils
- Adapt teaching approaches to meet individual learning, emotional, and behavioural needs
- Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils who may have experienced trauma
- Work collaboratively with support staff, SEN professionals, and leadership teams
- Create a calm, structured, and nurturing learning environment
The Ideal Candidate:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is preferred (but strong unqualified candidates may be considered)
- Experience working with pupils with ASD, SEMH, or additional needs is desirable
- Adaptable, patient, and resilient, with a strong commitment to inclusive education
- Willingness to learn and tailor teaching strategies to individual pupils
- Confident behaviour management skills rooted in empathy and consistency
