Quality Control Inspector Nr Newcastle-Upon-Tyne Competitive Salary Our client are an engineering manufacturer in the North East is looking to appoint an experienced Quality Control Inspector to join their growing team. This is a hands-on role within a busy fabrication and manufacturing environment, ensuring products meet customer specifications, internal quality standards, and industry compliance requirements. You will play a key part in maintaining quality standards across the production lifecycle, working closely with shopfloor teams, management, suppliers and client representatives. Key Responsibilities: Conduct and record inspections on incoming materials, in-process work and final productsPerform internal QMS and product-specific auditsCoordinate inspections with customers and third-party inspectorsReview and issue work instructions to meet contract and internal standardsRaise and manage NCRs, concessions and material certification documentationLead and support Root Cause Analysis investigations into quality issues and warranty claimsDrive corrective actions and continuous improvement initiativesMaintain and monitor the Quality Management System (ISO 9001 environment)Manage the calibration system, including internal and external calibration coordinationCompile quality data dossiers and support KPI reportingLiaise directly with suppliers and customer representatives on quality mattersPromote safe working practices and challenge unsafe behaviours Essential: Experience within a fabrication or heavy manufacturing environmentStrong understanding of engineering drawings and technical documentationExperience managing NCRs, inspections, and quality documentationKnowledge of ISO 9001 and industry standards such as ASMEConfident communicator able to liaise with customers and suppliersStrong planning and organisational skills Desirable: CSWIP 3.1 (CSWIP 3.0 considered)PCN Level II (MPI & DPI) or equivalent NDT certificationEngineering apprenticeship or similar qualification About you: Proactive and self-motivatedDetail-oriented with strong inspection disciplineComfortable working in a demanding production environmentTeam player with the confidence to challenge when requiredCommitted to continuous improvement and high standards
