We’re looking for a Hanging Operative /Forklift Truck Operative to join our Arrival B team based at our site at Grandstand Road in Hereford! Primary role will involve working on the live bird hanging line and also be required to stand in as a FLT operative duties will include loading vehicles with correct stock ensuring accuracy and efficiency through the process. Key responsibilities: Primary Role – Hanger (Arrival Operative): • Ensuring all birds are correctly placed on the production line whilst complying with strict bird welfare standards • Lifting in the region of 2kg per bird on a repetitive basis • Comply with Bird Welfare standards • To fully understand the importance of safe working practices and procedures related to all areas of their work and be fully aware of all the required safety equipment needed to perform his tasks and how equipment should be used • To fully understand and comply with all department and company policies and guidelines. • Handling/lifting of crates averaging 15kg Secondary Role - FLT Driver • To carry out instructions as given to you by your Supervisor/Management • Ensure live arrival vehicles are offloaded re-loaded in a timely manner • Ensure correct stock control/rotation of live birds is followed • Report any animal welfare issues to Team Leader promptly • Reload the lorries with all empty bins/modules • Check the planning schedule is correct • Service and maintain production areas as of when requested with all required materials and PPE • Carry out daily stock checks of all packaging materials and daily equipment What you'll need to be successful? • Counter balance forklift truck certificate • Able to work with minimal supervision • Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate with other members of the department • Experience within a production/manufacturing setting showing an understanding of a fast moving process is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided.
