As an Associate Specialist in Veterinary, you will play a vital role in ensuring the care and welfare of laboratory animals while gaining invaluable scientific experience. Join us and be part of a team dedicated to advancing research and improving lives!

Accountabilities

Perform a range of animal husbandry tasks, including feeding animals, cleaning animal housing, changing bedding, and providing attentive care for sick animals.

Report any animal welfare concerns promptly to all relevant stakeholders to ensure the highest standards of animal care are maintained.

Participate in study delivery involving animals and support related administrative tasks as needed.

Collaborate closely with team members and other stakeholders to deliver excellent animal care and research results.

Adhere to all AstraZeneca standards on animal care and research working under guidance from more Senior Technicians.

Ensure legal compliance of own work and colleagues' work.

Maintain awareness of advances and developments in laboratory animal science through continuing professional development and may be working towards a relevant qualification.

Carry out own work in accordance with local Safety Health and Environment and ASPA requirements.

Essential Skills/Experience

Bachelor's degree in animal science or another relevant scientific field.

Basic understanding of Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) requirements and ASPA regulations in the UK.

Strong interest in animal welfare, ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team, and a willingness to learn and develop skills.

Desirable Skills/Experience

Previous experience in animal science or laboratory animal husbandry.

Experience working in the pharmaceutical industry.

Personal License (PIL) holder under A(SP)A.
