EMR is working with a leading law firm based in the City of London, and we are supporting them with their search to hire a new Public Relations Manager..
Reporting into the Associate Director of Communications, as the newly appointed Public Relations Manager you will be responsible for raising the profile of both the organisation along with the individual partners, by building relationships with journalists and reporters across UK national and regional media outlets. You will develop and execute PR plans to promote the organisation’s leadership reports, events, campaigns, new partner hires and other marketing activities to build the positive profile of the firm in the London market.
As the newly appointed Public Relations Manager, your duties and responsibilities will include :
* Act as the day to day contact for the media. .
* Research and identify profile opportunities in the target media, across national, broadcast, practice group trade, regional and legal media titles.
* Build relationships and secure suitable opportunities for our partners.
* Identify media opportunities to connect those media contacts to partners of the firm.
* Organise media briefings for their partners, including preparing their partners for media interviews and advising lawyers on press response techniques.
* Actively generating and seeking story ideas and pitching these to relevant titles to secure positive media coverage.
* Writing press releases, pitches, articles and other communications materials for use with the media.
* Building and maintaining media contact lists on our media database.
To be considered for the Public Relations Manager at our client, your background, experience and skillsets will include :
* A minimum of 4 years public relations and communications experience gained within an international law firm.
* The ability to work and to multitask efficiently and work under tight deadlines and in stressful situations.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills. Capable of generating first drafts that require minimal revision.
* Experience using PR tools including PR media database and media monitoring platforms.
* Highly motivated and collaborative; with a very proactive approach.
* Professional & positive manner.
* Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with a range of senior stakeholders.
The salary offering for this position is up to £65,000 per annum dependent on experience.
