Location: Erdington, Birmingham B24 - Easily accessible from Sutton Coldfield, Perry Common, Castle Vale, and Wylde Green
Day Rate: £105 - £115
Days: Monday to Friday (Term Time Only)
Start Date: January 2026 - Immediate for the right candidate
Contract: Long-Term, Temp to Perm
Long Term Futures are recruiting a SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils across KS3 and KS4 at a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Erdington. This role is ideal for someone enthusiastic about supporting students with a range of needs including ASC, ADHD, SEMH, and speech & language difficulties.
Your Role Will Include:
Providing 1:1 and small-group SEND support
Helping pupils regulate emotions and behaviours throughout the day
Supporting curriculum access in English, maths, science, and wider subjects
Implementing personalised support plans and EHCP targets
Assisting with transitions, routines, and behaviour support strategies
Giving feedback to teachers, SENCO, and pastoral teams
Building trusting, professional relationships with pupils who require consistency
Supporting interventions that boost literacy, numeracy, and social communicationWe're Looking For:
Experience supporting young people with SEND in a school, PRU, or youth work setting
Strong behaviour management skills and patience during challenging moments
Understanding of safeguarding, confidentiality, and professional boundaries
Ability to follow behaviour plans, regulation techniques, and escalation protocols
Resilience, reliability, and commitment to long-term consistency
Confidence working alongside teachers, SENCOs, therapists, and pastoral teams
Awareness of the secondary curriculum
