We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Indirect Tax Assistant Manager to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and overseeing indirect tax compliance, ensuring adherence to tax regulations, and providing tax advice. The role involves working closely with other departments, such as finance, legal, and operations, and driving continuous improvement across all areas.
Tax Compliance:
* Ensure timely and accurate preparation, filing, and payment of GB, IE, JE indirect tax returns (e.g., VAT, GST, PPT)
* Preparation of monthly balance sheet accounts
* Manage the product file and review VAT treatment of new products
* Prepare the quarterly Partial Exemption calculation
* Maintain the Bespoke VAT Retail Scheme (BRSA)
* Maintain Risk and Control matrices and SOP documents
* Manage trade compliance requirements, including managing the Ireland TAN account, deferment account, and reconciliation of CDS reports
* Prepare data and information to respond to ad hoc requests, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
Tax Advisory:
* Monitor and interpret changes in VAT legislation
* Provide expert advice and training on indirect tax matters, including the impact of new tax legislation, policy changes, and tax rates
* Advise on VAT in property and healthcare transactions
* Prepare and present indirect tax matters to senior management
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
* Professional tax qualification (e.g., ATT, CTA, ACA, ACCA) preferred
* 3-5 years of experience in indirect tax, preferably in a multinational or public accounting firm
* Retail experience is a plus but not required
Skills:
* Strong knowledge of indirect tax laws and regulations
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; Oracle Financials experience preferred
