Job Summary
We're looking for an experienced Fire Engineer to carry out non-intrusive fire safety and asset validation assessments across railway stations and depots. You will evaluate existing fire protection systems, update compliance documentation, and produce high-quality reports - supporting fire safety across major infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
1. Conduct fire safety assessments and inspections in station and depot environments.
2. Identify and record fire safety systems, assets, and any defects or non-compliances.
3. Validate and update fire compliance plans; provide mark-ups to CAD teams.
4. Ensure all assessments align with project scope, standards, and regulations.
5. Produce clear reports with recommendations for remedial actions.
6. Liaise with project teams and stakeholders; contribute to weekly reporting and dashboards.
7. Escalate urgent fire safety risks via the appropriate channels.
8. Collaborate with and support other fire engineers and survey teams as needed.
Requirements
Essential:
9. 5+ years' experience in Fire Engineering or a related field.
10. Strong background in fire risk assessments and compliance surveys.
11. Understanding of compartmentation, fire protection systems, and evacuation planning.
12. Ability to review and verify fire compliance drawings.
13. Proficient in MS Office; detail-focused and methodical.
14. Strong communication and coordination skills.
Desirable:
15. Experience in rail, transport, or other complex infrastructure environments.
16. Familiarity with relevant fire codes, regulations, and industry standards.
