Grade and Salary: Grade 5 (£25,138 - £29,605)
Contract: Full-time (35 hours per week), 9am to 5pm Mon-Fri. This position maternity cover and is fixed term for up to 12 months.

This role is designed for an experienced information officer, who is needed to collate, manage and analyse data and provide timely informative reports for a variety of purposes. This role sits alongside a Data Analyst in the School’s Data and Information Management Office.
Job Purpose
The Information Officer is responsible for generating reports, statistics and information on data held on university databases. The role holder has abroad remit and is expected to support and develop information flows and systems in several areas. Data needed in support of high-level decision making. To support partner management working with the School’s Director of Internationalisation and Partnership and the Partnerships Team. Data reporting for the School’s online programmes, accreditation submissions, and to satisfy audit requirements. Then finally, data management is required in support of the School’s workload allocation system. There is scope for the Information Officer to develop their area of work proactively.
Summary of Key Duties and Responsibilities
Executive Support
1. Handle data reporting requests from the Executive Dean and School Leadership Team
2. Maintaining and updating of the School Data Dashboard
International Partnerships
3. Support for the Director of Internationalisation and Partnerships
4. Working closely with the Partnerships Team within the Academic Quality Division of the University’s Registry and Academic Support Services Directorate
5. Partner Annual Monitoring & Review process – extracting data and populating reporting templates.
6. Online tuition report
7. Partner Annual Monitoring and Review (PAMR) - audit data reporting
8. Partner specific requests – e.g. additional examination performance data
9. Support for all ALP student data requests
Online MBA and MSc
10. Supporting the Programme Director and School Senior Management Team with programme data requests
11. Exam Board reporting – running exam performance data reports for academic boards.
12. School level monitoring – reporting against defined KPIs
Institutional and Professional Body Accreditation
13. Support the Director of Accreditation
14. Student and programme data reporting – extracting data and populating reporting templates
15. Staff activity data reporting – extracting data and populating reporting templates.
16. Accreditation database – integration, data management and maintenance
Wider SoSS
17. Workload modelling development and ongoing workload data management and reporting
Person Description
Essential Criteria
18. Educated to degree level
19. Experience of effectively managing a range of information types; implementing processes to achieve effective information management supporting business objectives.
20. Knowledge of statistical data manipulation and information reporting.
21. Experience of working closely with others as part of a busy team
22. High level of communication and interpersonal skills
23. Ability to communicate complex messages in a concise manner, choosing the most appropriate method of communication.
24. Excellent levels of literacy and numeracy, and ability to demonstrate excellent written skills and to accurately prepare formal documentation and written reports with excellent attention to detail, tailoring documents to individual relationships and situations.
25. Confidence in gathering and quickly assimilating new information; ability to use this information in preparing written reports and communications.
26. Excellent organisational and time management skills and attention to detail, able to work flexibly and creatively whilst maintaining accuracy when working under pressure and to deadlines.
27. Familiarity with a range of IT applications and ability to work effectively with databases, bespoke systems, spreadsheets and word processing packages (including but not limited to - MS Word and MS Excel).
28. Ability to adapt quickly and effectively to changes in systems and processes and to proactively seek opportunities to improve standard practices.
Desirable Criteria:
29. Experience of working in higher education would be advantageous
30. Experience working within a quality assurance role.
31. High level IT literacy would be beneficial
32. Experience of query building in databases
