Job Title: Pastoral Teaching Assistant (Entry Level)
Location: Northumberland
Salary: £83–£95 per day
Contract: Full-time, Long-Term
Be part of a school that feels like family—and help change a child’s day, every day.
We’re looking for a compassionate, calm, and encouraging Pastoral Teaching Assistant to join our team here in Northumberland. Our school sits at the heart of a tight-knit local community, where everyone looks out for each other and every child is supported to succeed in their own way.
This role isn’t about ticking boxes—it’s about forming real, one-to-one relationships with children who need someone in their corner. You’ll be part of a team that celebrates every small win, values kindness above all else, and works together to help every child feel part of something bigger.
We work together every day to help our children:
* Communicate and interact confidently with others and the world around them
* Value themselves, their achievements, and show kindness and tolerance to others
* Lead safe, happy, and fulfilling lives
As part of our team, you will:
* Provide personalised, one-to-one support to children with Autism and communication needs
* Be a steady, calming influence during the school day, helping children regulate emotions and build positive routines
* Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and families to shape each child’s individual plan
* Help children engage with learning, friendships, and community life
* Celebrate every achievement—however big or small
We’re looking for someone who shares our belief that every child deserves to feel valued, supported, and part of something bigger. Someone who brings kindness to every conversation, patience to every challenge, and a steady hand when things get tricky. Experience is helpful, but what really matters to us is who you are—your ability to connect with children, build trust, and help them grow in confidence day by day. If you’re the kind of person who celebrates the small wins, never gives up on a child, and understands that progress looks different for everyone, you’ll fit right in here.
If you already have Thrive training, that’s great. If not, we’ll help you access it—supporting children’s emotional wellbeing is central to the way we work.
