Overview

We are looking for a Performance Manager to join Thames Water permanently.

You will be working across the geographical area of Banbury - OX16 4RZ where you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of up to 15 Sewage Treatment Works along with managing a small multi-skilled team of up to 12 technicians.

Location - Banbury - OX16 4RZ. You will operate out of the main site at Banbury but will visit other sites; a driving licence and car owner are essential as travel is required.

You will work 36 hours a week, Monday to Friday, along with participating in an out-of-hours rota for escalations and advice, for which you will receive additional payments.


What will you be doing as a Performance Manager?

* Lead the Health & Safety culture of the team and drive an environment where good practices are a daily norm and total compliance is adhered to.
* Drive improvements in the operations of your sites and the assets within them, focusing on benefits for customers and the environment.
* Drive the team to achieve optimal performance in work management, develop the team, and introduce new skills and Health & Safety awareness.
* Manage the budgetary and financial activities of the team and drive efficiencies into the overall operational budget.
* Customer & Stakeholder Management - ensure exceptional service to customers with early personal interventions as required.


To thrive in this role, the essential criteria you’ll need

* Previous experience managing operational staff with a proven track record of engaging and developing their team, ideally with field-based members within the utility industry.
* Able to demonstrate a strong focus on continuous improvement.
* You will be used to taking the lead and achieving results, ideally within a similar industry.
* Possess significant process management experience and knowledge with strong skills in operations, Health and Safety and Finance.
* Strong understanding of health and safety legislation.
* You will need to be competent in using IT equipment/systems and be able to interpret complex Excel spreadsheets.
* Financial management skills and commercial awareness to identify and achieve financial efficiencies.
* Due to the nature of this role, a full, valid driving licence is needed.
