Responsibilities
The Specialty Manager reports to the Service Manager and leads the operational management and the effective and efficient delivery of services within Specialty Management Groups in Dental Services. The post-holder's responsibilities include:
* Managing the day-to-day operations of the respective Specialty Management Groups, ensuring patient access to outpatient and inpatient care.
* Leading administrative teams to provide high-quality services to patients, carers, and referring practitioners.
* Supporting the Service Manager and General Manager (Business & Performance) in pathway coordination and management, including achieving performance targets such as RTT.
* Managing and developing patient pathways for continuous improvement.
The successful candidate will be motivated, hardworking, and proactive. Excellent organizational and communication skills, strong leadership qualities, and team support are essential.
The post-holder will collaborate with the Service Manager and General Manager on strategic service development, including expansion and changes.
Responsibilities also include managing clinic capacity, scheduling patients based on clinical priority, preventing breaches, requesting additional clinics, and liaising with clinical staff.
The role involves achieving service and teaching activity targets, mapping clinical activity for service reporting, and attending performance meetings to monitor various metrics such as activity, DNA rates, capacity, and breach analysis.
The post-holder will validate waiting list data regularly, report on 18-week access targets, and track cancer patient pathways within the Specialty Management Group.
