This Mechanical Fitter position is based at a modern engineering facility in Peterborough, working on the refurbishment, assembly, and maintenance of high-precision industrial machinery. Youll play a key role in bringing complex mechanical systems back to life, from strip-down and rebuild through to testing and pre-delivery quality checks.
Its a hands-on, workshop-based role, ideal for someone who takes pride in precision engineering and wants to work within a supportive, well-structured environment.
Job Responsibilities
* Disassemble, refurbish, and reassemble mechanical and electro-mechanical equipment to engineering drawings and specifications
* Carry out diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance on mechanical systems and components
* Build, align, and test machines as part of workshop projects, ensuring the highest quality standards
* Support the full life cycle of machinery refurbishment from inspection to commissioning
* Perform mechanical testing, fault-finding, and pre-delivery verification
* Maintain an organised, safe, and efficient workspace at all times
