We have an exciting opportunity for a key leadership role as Facilities Manager at Mills & Reeve’s Cambridge office.
Based at Botanic House, you will lead a team of nine, driving the day‑to‑day operations of a modern, high‑performing workplace. Your role involves creating a safe, compliant and well‑maintained environment while delivering exceptional client services across health & safety, building maintenance, fire & security, reprographics, mailroom and records management.
This is an office‑based role. You will work 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, rotating between 07.30 and 18.00 with a one‑hour lunch break.
Responsibilities
* Oversee delivery of client services and support services including reprographics, mailroom operations, meeting‑room setup, records management, and daily building inspections.
* Ensure smooth day‑to‑day building operations in partnership with the FM provider covering M&E, cleaning, sustainability and security services.
* Manage a significant budget and service charge plan.
* Lead and develop the team through performance management, regular 1:1s and team meetings.
* Oversee recruitment, health & safety planning, incident management, business continuity support, coordination of office projects, and promote a client‑focused culture.
Suppliers & Contractors
* Manage relationships with suppliers and contractors, ensuring delivery against SLAs and KPIs.
* Oversee planned preventative maintenance, approve purchase orders and conduct regular reviews with key service providers.
Strategy & Continuous Improvement
* Support and lead initiatives on environmental performance, quality management, business continuity, agile working and innovation.
* Stay up‑to‑date with industry developments to drive efficiency, value for money and excellent client service.
Qualifications and Experience
* Proven facilities management and team leadership experience.
* Strong attention to detail, commitment to delivering excellent client service and strong communication and IT skills.
* Experience managing suppliers and contractors.
* Relevant professional qualification desirable (e.g. NEBOSH, IOSH, IWFM).
* Proactive, adaptable, calm under pressure, strong organisational skills and innovative thinking; capable of managing client relationships with professionalism and discretion.
