Role: System Safety Engineer Defence Location: BristolorYeovilHybrid,3daysonsite Role Type: 12 months initially Salary: Upto£70anhour,dependingon experience Our globally renowned aerospace client is seeking an experienced System Safety Engineer to join its specialist Safety Engineering team supporting a range of UK defence aerospace programmes. The successfulcandidatewillcontributetothedevelopmentofsafetycaseartefactsforBoeingproductsand services within the UK defence domain, ensuring that systems meet the highest safety and certification standards throughout their lifecycle. Key Responsibilities: Applyrecognisedsystemsafetymethodologiesandtoolstodefineandmanagesafety requirements in line with defence and aerospace regulations. Conductsystemsafetyandhazardanalyses,ensuringcompliancewithrelevantstandardssuch as Def Stan 00-056 and MIL-STD-882E. Developstructuredsafetyargumentsanddocumentation,including SafetyCasesandService Assurance Cases, using frameworks such as Goal Structuring Notation (GSN) or Claims, Argument and Evidence (CAE). Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary engineering teams, project leads, and external stakeholderstointegratesafetyprinciplesacrossallphasesoftheproductandservicelifecycle. Essential Requirements: Degree(BEng/MEngorequivalent)inAerospace,Systems,orSafety Engineering. 10yearsexperienceinaerospaceengineering,including 6yearsinasystemsafetyorrelated role. Strongbackgroundinsafety-criticalandregulatedindustries(e.g.aerospace,defence, automotive, rail). ProvenknowledgeofsystemsafetyprocessessuchasFunctionalHazardAssessment(FHA), System Safety Assessment (SSA), and Common Cause Analysis (CCA). SkilledinsafetyanalysistechniquesincludingFaultTreeAnalysis(FTA)andBowtie Analysis. Excellentwrittenandverbalcommunicationskills,withtheabilitytopresentcomplextechnical information clearly.
