Your Role
* Lead high-quality care for patients with complex endocrine conditions
* Support and mentor the endocrine nursing team, fostering professional growth
* Help shape and expand endocrine services across the trust
* Provide specialist advice to multidisciplinary teams for assessment, planning, and care
* Act as a key resource for patients, families, and healthcare professionals in primary and secondary care
* Lead nurse-led clinics, inpatient consults, education, service development, and audits

Main duties of the job
* Become a Key Leader in Endocrine Care — deliver autonomous, specialist endocrine care that makes a real difference
* Provide expert endocrine care via nurse-led clinics, treatment planning, and inpatient support with personalized, compassionate care
* Act as the key worker for complex endocrine patients — delivering tailored education, support, and guidance
* Lead endocrine testing, interpret results, prescribe treatments, and collaborate with GPs and multidisciplinary teams to optimise outcomes
* Develop and enhance endocrine services, supervise and mentor junior staff and students
* Deliver specialist education to patients, carers, and professionals
* Communicate sensitively with patients and families, supporting informed decisions and building trust
* Maintain accurate records, lead audits, and support quality improvement initiatives
* Promote evidence-based practice, participate in governance, and manage resources effectively
* Drive continuous learning and innovation to keep endocrine services at the forefront of excellence

Essential
* Qualifications: Non-Medical Prescriber; First level degree in nursing or related subject; Post-basic qualification in specialty; Recognised teaching qualification
* Professional Registration: Registered Nurse with current NMC Pin
* Knowledge, Training & Experience: Relevant senior-level endocrinology experience; multiprofessional working; teaching experience; strong communication; change management capability; evidence of leadership and protocol development; involvement in audits and education; autonomous and team working; ability to travel across the Trust footprint
Desirable
* IT literacy; Leadership/management experience; Audit and research experience; policy/guideline development; full UK driving license
