Where will you be working?
At M Group Energy, we’re enabling the energy essential to support our lives. We provide end-to-end solutions in electricity transmission, distribution, renewable energy, EV, metering, and home decarbonisation.
This role is within our Metering team. We are the leading provider of metering services in the UK energy retail sector, offering efficient and flexible services for gas, electricity, and water meters.
Our meter readers install, maintain, and manage meters to ensure accurate billing and monitor energy usage patterns.

What will you be doing?
As a Maintenance Engineer, you'll visit various properties daily, working on Smart Meters in homes and businesses. If you enjoy helping people and making their lives easier, this role is for you. You'll use a handheld device to complete tasks and update records on your tablet, keeping customer data current. No live electrical work is required, and technical qualifications are not necessary.
Responsibilities include reconnecting Gas and Electric Smart Meters, changing SIM cards, modems, and small aerials, re-joining smart devices to the network, and exchanging batteries on gas meters. You'll also conduct site surveys and support tasks requiring field visits.

What you’ll bring
* You will be located in postcode areas: DG, EH, FK, G, KA, KY, ML, PA, TD
* Good geographical knowledge of your local and surrounding areas
* Quick learner, eager to grasp new tasks
* Effective use of hand tools and experience with handheld tools
* Ability to lift, carry, and climb ladders safely
* Self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently
* Excellent customer service skills
Qualifications and skills (preferred but not required):
* Experience in meter reading, especially with smart meters
* Electrical knowledge or qualifications
