Job Purpose
The part‑time Facilities Officer works closely with the Senior Facilities Officer and Operations Supervisor to ensure the school is secure, safe and well maintained for pupils, staff, and visitors. The role involves unlocking and locking buildings, securing fire doors and windows, dealing with breaches of security, carrying out maintenance plans, repairing equipment, supporting lettings and school events, and maintaining cleaning standards throughout the campus.
Responsibilities
* Unlock and lock buildings and facilities as required.
* Ensure fire doors and windows are secure and report any breaches.
* Carry out maintenance as instructed by the Senior Facilities Officer, including repairs, equipment upkeep, heating, lighting, water and drainage.
* Provide support for lettings and school events.
* Clean grounds, sweep pathways, empty litter bins daily.
* Clean school vehicles inside and out at least weekly and prior to excursions.
* Drive school vehicles as required.
* Adhere to agreed shift patterns and maintain flexibility throughout the term.
Person Specification
* Proven experience in a similar facilities role, preferably in education.
* Relevant qualifications in facilities or a related field, including IOSHH and MIDAS (or a willingness to undertake these).
* Desirable experience of caretaking, plumbing, carpentry/joinery, painting and IEE wiring regulations.
* Team player with a flexible approach to working hours and shift patterns.
