The Lead Quality Engineer at Royal London supervises and manages testing within specialised teams or Agile squads with a focus on automation testing. They ensure the integrity of testing activities, provide expert guidance, and define the test strategy. This role involves training, mentoring, and upskilling on all test processes, managing client relationships, and contributing to corporate testing standards. The position supports Royal London’s mission to enhance the mutual choice for customers.
About the role
* Lead the design, development, and execution of automated test scripts for Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM, covering modules like Sales, Customer Service, and Marketing.
* Architect and maintain robust automation frameworks using Playwright or Selenium, handling complex D365 UI elements and navigation.
* Collaborate with functional and business teams to identify and automate key business processes and critical CRM workflows.
* Integrate test automation into CI/CD pipelines and ensure test coverage across multiple environments and browsers.
* Drive performance and load testing for D365 CRM, validating page load times and supporting large datasets and user volumes.
* responsible for defining the test strategy—planning scope, approach, tools, timelines, and risks—and for managing the test team by assigning tasks, guiding execution, tracking progress, resolving issues, and reporting quality status to stakeholders’.
About you
* Experienced Test Engineer with a proven track record in test automation for web-based enterprise applications; expertise in D365 CRM preferred.
* Strong programming skills in one or more of JavaScript/TypeScript (Playwright), C# (Selenium), Java, or Python.
* Hands-on knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps or GitLab CI, and version control using GitHub or Azure repos.
* Ability to manage dynamic UI challenges, implement advanced locator strategies, and debug complex automation issues.
* Excellent communicator and collaborator, able to work cross-functionally with testers, developers, business analysts, and stakeholders.
