Role Overview
This role involves delivering high‑quality, evidence‑based care to acutely unwell adults across AAU, MDCU, and SDEC. You’ll work closely with a multidisciplinary team to assess, treat, and manage patients in a dynamic clinical environment. The position is based on‑site at St Richard’s Hospital.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct comprehensive assessments of acutely unwell patients
* Administer medications and implement care plans
* Use early warning scoring systems to prioritise care
* Collaborate with doctors, ACPs, therapists, and discharge teams
* Participate in board rounds and clinical decision‑making
* Provide clear communication and emotional support to patients and families
* Maintain accurate records and uphold confidentiality
Required Skills and Experience
* NMC registration with current PIN
* Minimum 6 months post‑registration experience in an acute trust
* Skills in venepuncture, cannulation, and administration of blood products
* Awareness of health and safety and risk management
* Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication
* Effective time management and accurate record keeping
* Willingness to work shifts
* Occupational health clearance

* Understanding of clinical governance and conflict management
