What you’ll do
We are looking for our next cohort of trainees to join our City and Guilds Approved technical academy training programme. You will be joining an industry leading provider of commercial kitchen service and maintenance in the UK and internationally. You will begin with a 3-month base at our brand-new technical academy where you’ll learn the basics, getting you ready to go out into the field. From there you’ll be attending our customer sites with one of our experienced technicians who will support your learning, returning periodically to the technical academy for the next part of your classroom-based learning; this is a genuine mix of classroom-based and practical, hands-on education. You will join a paid 2-year training programme with progression opportunities.
* You’ll gain Level 3 Refrigeration, Air Conditioning & Heat Pump Engineering Technician
* Additional training such as Level 3 Emerging Leader
* We give you the skills and experience for a long term in-demand career
* The chance to learn a new trade, with no prior experience
* Earn-as-you-learn on our 2-year, paid training programme
What a Typical Day Looks Like
* There isn’t one! Every day is different, different locations and different customers—from schools and colleges to commercial kitchens at well-known sporting venues.
* You will be building your portfolio to evidence your competence in each area of the training programme, giving a structured approach to your learning.
* You will be carrying out preventive maintenance, callouts and repairs on a wide variety of commercial kitchen equipment.
* You will have your own allocated sites upon completion of the trainee programme where you will build relationships with your customers and learn the ins and outs of each kitchen.
You’ll earn a pay increase annually as you become more experienced and be able to work on more complex jobs. For more information about MCFT, visit www.people.mcft.com.
