Description Job Title: Health, Safety & Environmental Advisor Region: Yorkshire Division: Environment Reports to: Framework HS&E Manager About Us Our Environment Business provides ‘source to sea’ asset delivery capability across the UK and Scotland, delivering both framework and standalone projects. Since AMP3 we have delivered more than £2bn of assets for clients including Yorkshire Water, United Utilities, Anglian Water, Thames Water, Southern Water, Welsh Water and Scottish Water. Purpose of the Role As HS&E Advisor, you will support the Framework HS&E Manager in delivering health, safety and environmental excellence across projects. You will help implement the HS&E strategy and management systems across the framework, supporting operational teams to maintain high safety standards, ensure compliance with legislation and management systems, and drive continual improvement in HS&E performance. Key Accountabilities Support the implementation of the HS&E strategy across the framework to drive continuous improvement. Promote Galliford Try’s behavioural safety programme Challenging Beliefs, Affecting Behaviours across operational teams. Provide technical HS&E guidance to operational and site management teams. Ensure effective implementation of the HS&E Management System, including compliance with client requirements. Engage with key stakeholders including clients, supply chain partners and project teams throughout the project lifecycle. Provide HS&E input from planning through to project completion to support proactive risk management. Monitor HS&E performance KPIs and identify opportunities for improvement. Escalate HS&E concerns to the Framework HS&E Manager where appropriate. Collaborate with project teams to ensure HS&E standards are consistently achieved across projects. Key Responsibilities in the Role Review project documentation including Construction Phase Plans, Emergency Response Plans, high-risk method statements and risk assessments. Carry out regular site inspections, HS&E reviews and environmental audits to ensure compliance with management systems and ISO 14001 standards. Support the onboarding and HS&E review of supply chain partners. Deliver HS&E training, awareness sessions and best practice guidance to operational teams. Investigate incidents and non-conformities, producing reports and recommendations to prevent recurrence. Monitor incident reporting and close-out actions within Galliford Try’s M2i system. Produce monthly HS&E reports and present findings to relevant management teams. About You Relevant HS&E experience within construction, infrastructure, utilities or similar sectors. NEBOSH Construction or General Certificate (or working towards). Strong understanding of HS&E management systems, risks and legal frameworks. Experience supporting HS&E delivery across project lifecycle stages. Strong communication skills with the ability to engage with operational teams and stakeholders. Experience conducting site inspections, audits and incident investigations. Competent in Microsoft Office and reporting systems. Full driving licence and willingness to travel across regional projects. Desirable: Membership of IOSH or IIRSM (TechIOSH minimum). Working towards or holding CMIOSH. NVQ Level 3 Diploma or higher in a relevant discipline. Experience in water, utilities or other regulated infrastructure sectors.
